The first of many, the real people, real life camper van diaries. We contacted Kerry who recently hired the camper van in July, to find out where she went on her little adventure and why she chose Up Sticks Campers as her choice for hire. A bit of light reading for your Sunday, enjoy and get inspired.
Number of days you hired the camper van? 2 nights
The Trip Destination? Peak District
Why did you pick that destination? As we only had the van for 2 nights, we wanted a destination that wasn't too far to travel to. Plus, we had never visited before.
Trip Highlights? The van itself was a highlight; a little home on wheels, with all the mod cons of a new vehicle. In terms of where we visited, we loved the wild nature of Stanage Edge, even if it felt like February, rather than July! Our campsite was situated close-by, reaching the Edge footpath by walking along a magical, mossy woodland track. We also walked up Mam Tor, which has gorgeous far-reaching views of the area. Our second campsite was set in the Lathkill Dale valley, en-route we visited Castleton, which is a picture postcard Derbyshire village and the stunning Monsal Viaduct.
Any places you recommend to eat? As we are vegan we didn't actually eat out anywhere, instead choosing to stock up with goodies and cook on the van's hob, which was fun.
What was your favourite part of the camper van? The pop top, styling and pull-out awning.
3 words to describe your experience? Peaks, van, adventure
What made you want to book with Up Sticks Campers? We visited Retrofitted with an aim to buy a camper van next year. We figured it would be good to try out one for ourselves first. We have since booked another trip. What would your dream trip be in the camper van? Outer Hebrides would be pretty special.
Thank you Kerry, for all your kind words about Up Sticks Campers and the insight into your trip to the Peak District. The scenic views are very inspiring for the hiking adventurers. We can't wait to see you again and hear what's next on the agenda.
